Join Nivedita Gurram for a focused, 4-session workshop dedicated to enhancing the health and function of your knees. Inspired by the precision and therapeutic approach of Iyengar Style Yoga, this series will move beyond general stretching to build true stability, strength, and range of motion.

What We'll Explore

This workshop is designed to methodically address the most common challenges and needs related to knee health. Over the four weeks, we will focus on three core areas:

  1. Knee Straightening (Extension) & Foundation:

    • Learn the proper engagement of the quadriceps and hamstrings to fully and safely extend the knee.

    • Understand the relationship between the feet, ankles, and hips in creating a stable base that protects the knee joint.

  2. Knee Flexibility and Range of Motion:

    • Explore safe and effective techniques to improve flexion (bending) and rotation in the knee joint.

    • Use props (blocks, straps, blankets) to access deeper stretches and poses without strain.

  3. Knee Pain Relief & Prevention:

    • Identify common misalignments in basic poses that contribute to knee discomfort.

    • Develop a personalized set of therapeutic poses and movements to relieve chronic pain and strengthen surrounding musculature for long-term protection.

Who Is This For?

This series is ideal for anyone who:

  • Experiences occasional knee discomfort or stiffness.

  • Wants to safely deepen their yoga practice by understanding proper knee tracking and alignment.

  • Is recovering from an old knee injury (please consult your doctor or physical therapist first).

KARUNA Hiking Club- Shadow Cliff

Join us for a community hike with fellow yogis- family and friends welcome! This is a wonderful opportunity to connect beyond the studio and share conversations while surrounded by nature. 

Together we will enjoy fresh air, gentle movement, and the simple joy of being outdoors. Whether you come to make friends, deepen existing connections, or simply soak in the beauty of the trail, this hike is a chance to nurture both body and spirit off the mat. 

Meeting place: Shadow Cliff Recreation Area, 2500 Stanley Blvd, Pleasanton- North Beach parking lot. ($5 parking fee). 

Distance 2.8 miles. 

Please bring- Essential: Comfortable walking shoes, water. Recommended- A snack, suncreen, hat, walking poles if you liek to use them.

Find your inner oasis in this 2-hour restorative yoga and Tune Up Therapy Ball Workshop. We'll combine supported yoga poses with targeted rolling techniques to soothe the nervous system, release physical tension, and melt away stress. Perfect for anyone needing to cultivate deep relaxation and resilience.

Tighter fitting clothing is recommended. Loose clothing tends to get caught while rolling. Some yoga experience will be helpful. Class is for anyone

Class includes TuneUp toted set of therapy balls $35+15=50. Class only $35 if you have a set of TuneUp therapy balls. MUST have a set of Tune Up therapy balls. Two tennis balls in a sock will not work for this workshop

 Patricia is a retired dental hygienist who started taking yoga classes in 2000. She never intended to teach yoga once receiving her certifications. After subbing classes, she discovered the enjoy of teaching. Her certification are: 200- and 300-hour alignment yoga, therapy balls, yin yoga, restorative yoga and FeetUp inversion trainer.
