Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park offers a serene and tranquil environment for our walk among the largest remaining natural stand of ancient coast redwoods in the East Bay.
Join us for the June hike in the quintessential East Bay park that beats the summer heat. As we navigate this well-marked loop, we’ll be surrounded by lush foliage and towering redwoods, providing ample shade to keep you cool throughout the hike.
Meeting Place: At the end of Canyon Meadow parking lot at the “Stream Trail” wooden sign., Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park, Redwood Gate Park Entrance, 7867 Redwood Road, Oakland.
When: 9am, Sunday, June 14th.
Distance: 4.0-mile loop on well-maintained trails with an elevation gain of 577 feet. About 1/3 of the route is on pavement (parts of Stream Trail). The route has climbs at the right time to feel moderate. The narrow parts of the trails have poison oak which can brush up against you when letting people pass you going the opposite direction. Pants and long sleeves are recommended.
Please Bring:
Essential - Comfortable walking shoes, water, sweater/ jacket as needed.
Recommended - A snack, sunscreen, hat, walking poles if you like to use them and long pants and long sleeves to avoid direct contact with poison oak.

Other Information:
• Restrooms and water: available at the start and along the Stream trail.
• Parking: The park charges $5 per vehicle. After turning off Redwood Road into the park and just beyond the entry kiosk, there are four parking lots available. Allow time for walking up to an additional 1/3 mile from another parking lot to the start at 9:00am.
• Members, family and friends are welcome. A kid-friendly route.
• Dogs are allowed on leash.
• Mobile phone access: There is little or no cellular service in the park.
